• Where is Momentum?
Momentum Indoor Climbing is located at the South Towne Center in Sandy, Utah just West of the South Towne Mall and right next door to the Sandy REI.

How do I get to Momentum?
Coming from Downtown Salt Lake, take I-15 to the 10600 South Exit (Exit 293). If coming from the Provo, go north on I-15 to exit 293.  Turn east over the overpass, and then turn left at the first stop light into the South Towne Mall. Turn left (west) at the "T' intersection, and stay on that road until you see REI and Momentum on your left. See map on the "contact" page.

• How much does it cost to climb at Momentum?
Please see our "rates" section on our webpage's navigation bar.

• I'm a beginner. Where do I start?

See one of the helpful staff members at the reception area in Momentum. During your first visit we teach you basic safety skills like fitting a harness, tying into a toprope, toprope belaying and bouldering safety.  Our staff explains basic technique and the difficulty rating system.

• Do you offer classes?
We have a highly skilled staff that give you pointers on technique and strategy, as well as tips on improving your climbing. We offer private lessons, so ask any friendly staffer about our programs.

• I am climbing by myself. Do I need a partner?
If you are bouldering, then no partner is needed though we recommend a spotter. However, if you are planning on any roped climbing, you will need a partner. Go to the Momentum website and check out “The Connector” a partner finder we have developed to help climbers of similar abilities and interests meet up. Or talk with a staff member and we will help you find a partner.

• Can my kids climb with me?
We have a kids-only climbing area, with walls no higher than 8 feet. If your kids are intimidated by the main area, they'll still have a great experience at Momentum. We also offer Day Care to our climbers, so if your children are too young for the Kids Area, they are in great hands.

• What gear do I need?
You will need a pair of climbing shoes, a chalkbag (with a chalk ball), and a harness. lead climbers will need to bring their own ropes. All of these items but the chalk bags and lead ropes are available for rental at Momentum. Just ask when you are checking in.

• Where can I go climbing outdoors?
Salt Lake is one of the best cities in the world to find premiere rock climbing nearby. Little Cottonwood Canyon, visible from our Eastern Bay Window, is home to some of the best granite climbing in the West, and American Fork Canyon is home to some of the best sport climbing you will find. There are several good guidebooks for climbing in Utah.
